Facilitators Wanted – Cube 2011

taspublications

Organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority(URA), the third Challenge for the Urban & Built Environment (CUBE) student workshop will be held for 4.5 days from 30 May till 3 June this year. CUBE is our yearly educational outreach to tertiary level students. We hope to once again use it as a platform to build up a new generation of youths who are driven in making their community a better place to live, work, study and play in.

Our website (http://www.ura.gov.sg/aude/cube_challenge.htm) should give you a clearer idea of how CUBE 2010 was conducted.

Our study area this year is the Fort Canning foothills. The students will be presenting their proposals on improving the area through urban planning, design and programming. As we plan to have 16 teams participating, so we’ll need about 16 facilitators. We will also need them to come down for a briefing session first before the workshop, which will be held at the URA Centre.

This is a good chance for facilitators to expand their portfolio and contribute to the wider architectural community. We hope to interest year 4s or year 5s. There will also be a token renumeration for the facilitators, but details will be worked out at a later stage.
